چکیده

This paper presents design and implementation of compact microstripline phase shifter at C band frequency range using RT Duroid 5870 substrate. Phase shifters are key elements of beam-steering antennas which are very useful for Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) and microwave communication system. Phase shifters are used to control the main-beam of the phased array antenna. Microstripline phase shifter is used since it is simple to design and easy to fabricate. The main objective of this paper is to design and implement a phase shifter for four elements linear sub array for SAR application. This phase shifter is provided using different lengths for scan angle 0o to 135o. RT Duroid 5870 substrate is used for its lower insertion loss. The important mathematical calculations for finding the dimensions of all the individual component is done using MATLAB and then individual components are designed and simulated using Ansoft Designer (SV) and Sonnet Lite v13.35. The presented phase shifter is designed to operate in C band frequency range between 4 and 8 GHz and center frequency is 5.3 GHz , with low insertion loss and reflection coefficients. This proposed phase shifter is suitable for a modified class of feeding networks for phased antenna arrays.

Dual-Band Operation of a Microstrip Patch Antenna on a Duroid 5870 Substrate for Ku- and K-Bands

The dual-band operation of a microstrip patch antenna on a Duroid 5870 substrate for Ku- and K-bands is presented. The fabrication of the proposed antenna is performed with slots and a Duroid 5870 dielectric substrate and is excited by a 50 Ω microstrip transmission line. A high-frequency structural simulator (HFSS) is used which is based on the finite element method (FEM) in this research. The...

A New Circular Polarization Metamaterial Ferrite Phase Shifter

In this paper, a new X band Metamaterial (MTM) based ferrite phase shifter is presented. The phase shifter is excited by circular polarized wave base on combination of TE10 and TE01 modes in a square waveguide. In order to synthesize negative refractive index metamaterial (NIM), negative permeability of ferrite slabs in extraordinary mode is mixed with the negative permitivity of printed period...

تحلیل و طراحی تغییر دهنده فاز N - بیتی MEMS توزیع شده در باند Ka

Modern microwave and millimeter wave phased array antennas are attractive because of their ability to steer wave beams in space without physically moving the antenna element. A typical phased array antenna may have several thousand elements fed by a phase shifter for every antenna, which can steer the resulting array beam to different directions. Their low loss, low cost and lightweight phase s...
